It’s Finished!

At last the patchwork quilt is finished!

Mum’s already asking when I’m going to start on hers and my daughter is constantly wrapped in it, so at least it was worth it.

Feels a bit strange not having anything to do now so maybe I’ll start on Mums in the week (her birthday isnt until July so I have plenty of time!) x

Time for an update on the patchwork quilt – its nearly finished!

We (mainly me!) have stitched together 750 squares and the quilt is now ready for polywadding and backing! Im going to make a big effort to get it finished over the weekend so hopefully I can show you all some fabulous pictures at the beginning of next week.

I have to say, its looks fab – only problem is …… my mother wants one too! x

Patchwork – How Relaxing!

Many years ago I used to do so much sewing, dressmaking etc and haven’t touched anything for ages!

Well, I’ve started a new ‘little’ project with my 17 year old daughter. We are going to make an huge patchwork quilt all by hand!!!

We started nearly a week ago and its growing already. Im teaching her about covering the paper squares and she is choosing which colours she wants where. (Typical teenager has to be in charge!) We’re up to 11 x 11 squares already, all be it little 6cm square because that’s what she wanted. Only another 580 odd to go to get it up to double bed size!

I think I must be mad.
